Placed Where People Could See

This was not tucked into a corner.

Someone chose this spot.

Out in the open.

Where people walk their dogs.

Where children pass on bikes.

Where neighbors pause with coffee.

Art like this does not hide.

It stands where life keeps happening.

Many of us learned that staying safe meant staying small.

Not drawing attention.

Not taking up too much space.

Not letting ourselves be noticed.

Shrinking teaches people to live like background scenery.

Useful.

Quiet.

Replaceable.

But Christ does not create background characters.

He forms people on purpose.

With shape.

With weight.

With presence.

Stopping shrinking sometimes looks like letting yourself remain visible.

Not performing.

Not pushing.

Just refusing to disappear.

There are seasons when being seen feels dangerous.

When past criticism still echoes.

When exposure feels like risk instead of gift.

Jesus understands those fears.

He never shoves people into spotlights.

He restores sight slowly.

He teaches hearts that safety exists again.

If today all you can do is stay where you are instead of retreating, that is courage.

If you resist making yourself smaller in conversation, that is worship.

If you allow your needs to take up space, that is faith.

You were not placed on this earth to vanish inside it.

God put you here where life is happening.

Where people can see.
