The Middle Is Messy … And Still Miraculous
She almost didn’t pray today.
Not because she doesn’t believe.
But because she didn’t know where to start.
Not because she’s far from God.
But because life feels heavy, and faith feels foggy.
She loves Jesus. She’s just tired.
Of trying.
Of spinning.
Of wondering if it’s okay that her mind is loud and her prayers are a little scrambled right now.
Maybe You’ve Been There Too
You’re doing your best.
But there’s this weird pressure in the background… like you’re supposed to be more “put together” by now.
You believe in God. You show up. You try.
But if you’re being honest? It doesn’t always feel like enough.
There are moments when you look around and think:
“Why does everyone else seem to have their peace figured out?”
“Why am I still battling the same thoughts?”
“Shouldn’t I be past this by now?”
You don’t feel far from God.
You just don’t feel very spiritual.
And it’s messing with you.
We’ve Been Taught to Keep Our Faith Polished
Let’s call it out for what it is.
You’ve been conditioned to believe that if your faith doesn’t look quiet, steady, or Instagram-worthy…
Something must be wrong with you.
Somewhere along the line, we picked up this message that real faith = calm mornings, color-coded devotionals, and peace that doesn’t flinch.
But what about the days when your peace does flinch?
When your mind is scattered, your prayers are short, and your heart feels like a tangled mess?
Nobody tells you how to bring that version of yourself to God.
So instead, you start to shrink.
You go quiet.
You push through.
You carry it all with a smile… but inside, you’re wondering if He even sees you.
Let’s Just Say It: Performing Faith Is Exhausting
Trying to look like you have it all together will wear you out faster than any spiritual attack ever could.
It’s not just tiring… it’s disconnecting.
You’re so busy trying to “feel right” or “do it right” that you stop being real.
And the sad thing?
That pressure never came from God.
That’s cultural noise.
That’s religious programming.
That’s spiritual perfectionism dressed up as discipline.
God’s not asking for your performance.
He’s after your presence.
Even if it’s messy.
Even if it’s raw.
Even if it’s silent and tear-stained and barely a whisper.
God Isn’t Waiting on the Polished Version of You
You don’t have to clean up your thoughts before you show up in prayer.
You don’t have to “get back on track” before you’re allowed to be close again.
God meets you in the chaos.
That messy, unfiltered, “I’m not sure what to say but I’m here anyway” kind of place?
Yeah. That’s where He shows up.
He did it for the woman at the well.
He did it for Elijah in the cave.
He did it for Peter after the denial.
And He’ll do it for you… right now.
No script. No shame. No striving.
What If This Middle Isn’t a Problem to Fix?
We’re so quick to label the middle seasons…
The in-between, the unraveling, the not-quite-there moments… as delays or detours.
But what if they’re sacred?
What if the middle is where the miracles happen?
Not in the perfect outcome, but in the messy process?
This is where clarity comes.
This is where your relationship with God gets real… not curated.
This is where your identity gets rewired… not because you fixed yourself, but because you stopped faking it.
You don’t need to rush out of this space.
You need to breathe in it.
You’re Not Falling Behind… You’re Coming Back to Center
So if your Bible’s collecting dust, your prayers feel jumbled, or your mind won’t stop racing…
That doesn’t mean you’re disconnected.
It means you’re human.
It means something inside you is craving more than performance.
You’re craving presence. Peace. Real connection.
And that starts… not with a new plan or a perfect prayer life… but with an honest pause.
A moment to say:
“God, I don’t feel polished today… but I’m still here.”
That’s enough.
This Is Your Reminder: God’s Still in It With You
You haven’t missed it.
You’re not behind.
You’re not broken.
You’re just in the middle.
And it’s okay if that middle feels like a mess right now.
It’s still miraculous.
So go ahead and breathe.
You don’t have to have all the answers.
You don’t have to get it all right.
You’re loved. You’re seen. You’re held.
Right here.
